The Two-Year B.Ed. Program is designed to ensure that the student teachers acquire  competencies to become effective Secondary and Higher Secondary School teachers in a  dynamic Global Scenario. The following are PROGRAMME and COURSE SPECIFIC  OUTCOMES 

PO1. Knowledge integration:

Knowledge skills relate to the acquisition, maintenance, integration and use of knowledge.  Student teachers should be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of: –

➢ Basis of curriculum designing,

PO 2. Communication skills: These skills relate to communication between teacher and  student, teacher and administrators, teacher and colleagues, teacher and community.

Student teachers should be able to demonstrate that they can-

➢ Listen carefully,

➢ Observe non-verbal cues,

➢ Demonstrate an understanding of the students, their feelings, 

➢ Communicate truthfully and effectively both verbally and in writing, ➢ Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stake holders,

PO3. Effective Teaching: Student teachers should be able to demonstrate proficiency in

PO4. Professional behaviors’: Student teachers should be able to demonstrate that they can:

➢ Epitomize accepted ethical standards, including the Professional Standards for teacherswith the highest sense of honesty, transparency and integrity,

➢ Interact with students, with honesty, integrity, compassion, and respect,

 ➢ Not discriminate in interactions with students on protected grounds such as age, race,  colour, ancestry, place of origin, political belief, religion, marital status, family status,  physical or mental disability, caste, gender and sexual orientation,

PO5. ICT skills: Student teachers should be competent in blending of online and face-to-face  classroom teaching, performing a set of core practical and technical skills meeting the specific  objectives. Student teachers should be able to demonstrate that they can:

➢ use electronic networks for communication with others,

➢ search, retrieve, and organize information from a variety of information sources,

➢ select, and use materials as resources in self-directed learning, including computer aided and web-based learning for classroom transaction,

PO6. Personal management skills: These skills relate to development of the individual.  Student teachers should be able to demonstrate that they can:

➢ prioritize tasks, plan and schedule work to meet deadlines and communicate effectively  with others,

➢ select appropriate learning methods, strategies, and techniques for the subject and  competencies to be mastered,

➢ assess their own strengths and weaknesses and be willing to seek guidance or accept  feedback about personal weaknesses in knowledge and skills,

Course Learning Outcome:

GENDER, SCHOOL AND SOCIETY 

Course Learning Outcome:  

  1. To acquaint the student teachers with the concept of gendered roles in society and  their challenges.  
  2. To develop basic understanding and familiarity with key concepts-gender, gender  bias, gender stereotype, empowerment, gender parity, equity and equality,  patriarchy and feminism and transgender.  
  3. To understand the influence of social institutions (family, caste, class, religion,  region,) on inclusion and gender identity 
  4. To examine the role of schools, peers, teachers, curriculum and textbooks, etc. in  challenging inclusion and gender inequalities /reinforcing gender parity.
  5. To develop an understanding about policies, plans and schemes of the government  for addressing all forms of disparities, inequalities and their inclusion in the society  6. To critically appraise the role of media in reinforcing inclusion and gender roles in  the popular culture and at school.
